With the recent Golden Globe, footballer writers, bbc sports 'personality' of the year awards it led me to think what a fun idea it would be to get something going of a similar nature on Shrimperzone for 2010.

As far as I am aware there is no such awards on here. I am quite simply thinking only in the form of a shortlist for certain categories and then open the awards to poll for approx 7days.

Categories would have to be decided and I would be happy to run with this event but may require some help from one or more of the regulars on here.

Something to think about that is for sure. Is there something similar in place? If not do you like the suggestion and would it be something to run with? Feel free to suggest some categories. I hope you like the idea.

It is very vague for now but all input is welcome.

the bluetonic award

I've already awarded the Bluetonic award for 2010 to East Stand Blue RIP. Although, I may have been a bit hasty and I think I might switch it to the Jimmy Walker award.

I think statistically, everyone on the Board will die. Except Tony the Kray, who I'm sure is a figment of my imagination.

With advances in medical science increasing at the rate they are, there is a chance that one or two of us will live forever. There are likely to be further breakthroughs in science which will dramatically extend life expectancy and this in turn could extend someone's life long enough until medical science works out how to stop us dying.

I'd like to see your statistics therefore better adjusted to reflect improvements in modern medicine over the last 100-150 years.
