Today at work a guy come in to buy a couple of trousers and started to tell me he had no money. I immediately thought as he must be in his 70's - 80's it might be because of his age.

But no.

He said that his wife is in a care home (bearing in mind he WEEK, for her to be in this home. And as he has no money what the care home is doing is taking the money out of his and the wifes pension to pay for it, leaving him with £35 a week.
Now this really upset me that this guy has obviously been through a war which must of been tough, but I guess this is harder for him.

Now that £400 a week adds up to £1600 a month, then £19,200 a year. And like all care homes they are providing her with a place to stay, food, water, and help. Now surely that wouldn't come to £19,200 a year for that really.

It really upset to think about it or talk about it later on to anyone at work.

This guy he must have been just like anyone of us on here when he was younger, paid his bills/taxes/mortgages/etc etc. And then he gets f***ed left, right and centre by these tight b******s who want as much money as they can get from someone who has literally f*** all!

Touched on this with the old lady that was the last survivor of the Titanic, Leo and Kate (good friends!) paid her fees for one of the last months of her life. Absolute rip off if you ask me....disgraceful.
