I'm well aware that the Murdoch empire has other, more pressing, problems right now but does anyone know when Sky will be announcing which TV games they'll be showing in the 2011/12 season?

Haven't heard an official date, but it should be any day now as in the last couple of years they have been announced before July 10th. We still plan things like that properly in England, unlike some other European countries.
TFTI.I wonder what European countries you might be referring to?:winking:
(btw, the fixtures in Spain only came out yesterday and as for TV; Espanyol's friendly with Boca Juniors on July 27th will be on Catalan TV3).

Incidentally, who does the "we" refer to here?
Surely, you're not a News International/Corporation shareholder?
I was under the impression that Mr Rupert Murdoch was an Australian, living in the USA(who has American citizenship and pays no UK taxes on his immense UK earnings).Surely you're not associating yourself with him?
Is he really a "fit and proper owner"of Sky(as defined by the British Broadcasting Act)?
Enough of the semantics. By 'we' I mean England. Between the FA Premier League, Sky and ESPN, the televised football fixtures are decided well in advance - about four months in the case of fixtures near Christmas. The fact that Sky and ESPN are American/Australian companies (who both employ a huge number of UK taxpayers) is neither here nor there.
There is much to applaud about Spanish football, but their organisation of televised fixtures is poor. Fixtures are only confirmed less than a fortnight ahead of time, which does no-one any favours when making travel plans. I appreciate that away support in Spain is mostly somewhere between small and non-existent but it's still an unsatisfactory state of affairs.
It's quite true-as you say-that Spanish KO times/matchdays are only confirmed late-very often announced only the week before. However anyone who knows the scene here can predict quite accurately which matches will be televised and when and which will stay in the traditional 5pm on Sunday slot.
It's also true that- largely because of the great distances involved-there is little tradition here of following your team away.
Why you appear to think Spain should change its TV scheduling to fit in with UK(ie Sky)dictates I've no idea.Personally I've always found uniformity to be a bit boring.
Brighton vs Leeds 23rd Sept.
Your chance of seeing the new Amex ground and a 20k crowd. Make a note in your diaries.
The live Premier League games to be shown on Sky Sports up until November will be announced on Sky Sports News today at 11am.
