While Dan Bentley will one day be able to tell his grandchildren that he scored for his own side at Wembley, yesterday's 3rd goal is credited (eg Sky, BBC) to McLaughlin - even though the accompanying reports make it clear the ball only ended up in the net as a rebound off the keeper's back. Of course, if these keepers were talentless and didn't get close to saving the shots in the first place the problem wouldn't arise.

Yes - I think there is an inconsistency there. In neither case it would seem that the the ball was not going into the net and therefore is an own goal.

However, I am more than happy for it to be credited to the player shooting as that seems to be "reward" the effort of the attacker.

I Actually don't give a flying **** who it is credited to. Final score 3-1 Blues. Get in.
