So what is it about all these injuries?

I reckon Harry Kane could do with that ankle support? I never had these but Bata Cup Ties, the nylons studs used to sharpen like razor blades!
It's amazing how the nostalgia of old football boots brings out the memories of thuggery in us all when we reminisce.

Totally agree. It would be useful, provided someone has the data, to detail all of this season's injuries, by type, by severity, and crucially, how they were obtained. My suspicion is that a number were "non-contact" injuries, and some were obtained in a non-match environment.
It's no good blindly saying "oh, we have been so unlucky with injuries this season" and just shrugging our shoulders and doing nothing about it.

Perhaps our "Performance Analyst" can do something useful and look for any common link in these injuries, in order to limit the likelihood of them occurring in future.

The ACLs (season ending)
Sam Barratt - training 7/8/18 - unknown
Lewis Gard - match (A) 9/10/18 - dirty Col Ewe foul play
Tom Hopper - match (H) 23/10/18 - no contact
Ben Coker - match (A) 27/10/18 - no contact

Broken Leg (4 months)
Harry Lennon - match (H) 23/10/18 - contact (foul not given)

Achilles (season ending)
Harry Kyprianou - match (A) 24/11/18 - fouled

Knee op (3 months)
Jason Demetriou - match (H) 27/11/18 - no contact

Back (2+ months)
Mark Oxley - overnight? - 20/12/18 - unknown

Broken toe (2 and a half months)
Harry Lennon - match (H) 4/9/18 - contact

Good luck finding some common link in that lot.

That's not including any muscular injuries (Dru's hamstring at the start of the season, John White's groin etc,), any injuries from last season (Ted Smith, shoulder; Rob Kiernan, knees etc), the recurring knocks that keep out Hyam and Bunn or any knock that has kept someone out for less than two months.

In black only as well.

I'm all on board blaming the proliferation of coloured boots.

Injuries can be unlucky, but 4 ACL injuries in one season is crazy. Added to that all the muscle injuries and it makes you wonder what is happening.

Below is the "underlying numbers" of this season. Expected Goal difference as the season has progressed. Anyone want to have a guess at which point Coker and Hopper got injured?

Hyam, Bunn and Lennon are crocks, look at their past history and how many games they've played. Kiernan and Oxley also have a history of knocks. Hopper was bad luck, the others perhaps down to other factors. Coker has picked up injuries consistently since being here. The most disappointing has been Demetriou who has hardly had a bad knock in his career.

This, unfortunately, is very true. Hyam and Lennon spending most of their time in the treatment room is probably the least surprising situation we’ve found ourselves in this season.
