The Shrimpers Trust have run a Social Inclusion Project since 2019.

We were delighted that club legend Stan Collymore showed such an interest in the scheme when he joined our Board meeting in May 2021, and we thank Stan for his efforts in publicising the project as well as his wonderful personal financial offer.

We hoped that by offering easy access and an enjoyable environment that we would make a real difference to a number of lives. The scheme saw various worthy causes treated to a day out, in partnership with the football club.

As we hopefully move out of the pandemic, leading to sports and social activities being resumed, and with Stan Collymore's involvement bringing renewed enthusiasm to the project, we are looking forward to growing this scheme for the benefit of many more people.

Further details on the scheme, who has benefitted so far and how to donate can be found on the Trust Website here.

I am absolutely amazed at the reception this is getting. Just shows what some high profile publicity does as it has all been advertised on our website and in programmes.

Thank you to all who have donated, means we can get more people in who might otherwise not get the chance to.

@Cricko maybe we can have some guests in from One Love when circumstances allow?

Finally got me to sign up as a member of the Trust. Not sure why I never did it before.

Yeah I’m pleased my new media career has helped ???

seriously though you are right

Still getting the few odd sheckles in royalties from Roots To The 92 sales (sales now totalling more than 1,500), all which for some time have gone to various charities, so have just now donated the last payment to this cause.

All royalties from sales until the end of this month will also go to the social inclusion project so if you've not yet got your copy yet (where have you been?!) or want to give a copy of the good book as a present to your nearest and dearest, you'll find it on Amazon, link here: Possibly the best book in the world

Cheers
