Whilst still battling with redoing, reformatting and generally tinkering with things I shouldn't I wondered what the most essential pieces of software are. OS exluded as I use a Windoze version of ME

Photoshop and Dreamweaver are my essential bits of Computer bling which I haggled from a IT buff in exchange for some electrical work and I can't live without them.
I prefer Limewire to Kazaa but have yet to yield to firefox instead of IE as for some reason it seems a few seconds slower.
I also require Cool Edit...now Adobe Audition, for my music mixing stuff
Anyway, nerds and experts and the like what software should I really be aspiring to?
...

I will rebuild this computer, I have the technology it will not cost six million dollars
