We (Jávea / Xabia) beat top of the table Torrevieja on their patch this afternoon, their first defeat at home all season, and they were NOT happy at all.

Take a look at this "unbiased" report and imagine just how sour the author is finding those grapes!

What a complete dingbat. He's obviously having trouble coming to terms with defeat...!

BTW, what division do you guys play in?

We play in the regional Valencian Preferente League (Group IV) which is LEVEL 5 in the Spanish League, the equivalent of Nationwide Conference level in England.

Torrevieja are an arrogant bunch. They attract something like 4,000 to a game in the league where the average attendance is about 400. They certainly "don't like it up them" and definately didn't like our determined style and passion. Our players dropped to their knees and reached for the sky at the final whistle. It was like winning a cup final. And that's what it is all about. Passion. Determination. Will to win. Torrevieja think that they can just turn up and waltz their way through the league and everyone else should stand aside and let them through. Well, we stopped them, condemned them to their first home defeat of the season (in their penultimate home match!) and outplayed them on their own turf.

I love the comment that Jávea are "a side not worthy to wear a football jersey let alone grace a football pitch"! I took great pleasure in posting a message to this chap basically informing him that this "unworthy" had just done his lot at home! He wasn't happy; cue more diving accusations! Sour grapes? You fecking betcha!!

"1-0 to the Jávea! 1-0 to the Jávea! 1-0 to the Jávea! 1-0 to the Jávea!
You're not very good, you're not very good, you're not very, you're not very
YOU'RE NOT VERY GOOD!"
