There's two open evenings at the airport today and tomorrow and they are looking to fil vacancies that might be up my alley. Where can you park without getting a nick or having your pants pulled down on the price?

Only going to be there for a hour at most.

If you land on the main runway and taxi to your left there is parking near the terminal.

Last time I picked someone up from Southend (about a year ago) I waited in the little retail car park next to McDonalds.

Unfortunately for me, their flight ended up getting delayed, so I was parked there for a good hour or so more than what I’d planned for.

As it turns out though, I didn’t have to pay & didn’t get any tickets either. Never saw any signs saying I couldn’t park/wait there either.

Like I say, this was a year ago, (maybe longer) so could have changed by now. Worth checking though.

Think most Macdonald's you get upto 90 minutes parking so should be ok

There's a board with the parking info in the retail car-park. Think it's a max 4 hours stay and no return within 2 hours.

I am pretty sure the car park is partioned by barriers which close during the evening so make sure you park on the right side.

Just a warning to all. There has been cases of people shopping in that retail park and returning several hours later for a second visit or to return something and getting an unexpected ticket. The company takes the entrance time of the first visit and the leaving time of the second visit and claimed you may have been there 7 or 8 hours etc.

Let me know how you get on? I can’t make either day.

Park by the allotments on Manners Way it’s free and your not bothering anybody.

In my more youthful days I've worked at Heathrow and Gatwick tarmac side and there was never a dull moment The way Southend is developing it could be great opportunity for you. Good luck and I hope you can pick up something you're interested in.

Good luck. I bet working at an airport is really interesting.

I've worked at Stansted and Southend and loved my time at both airports. Got a job interview next week at another airport which i'm hoping to get the job for. It's great working at the airports.
