The budget quote sounds like typical Phil to me. He used to say things like that to put pressure on Ron quite a lot.
Or to not overplay his hand when speaking to players and agents.

@Strike Force your thoughts? We haven't got an attacking centre midfielder. It's area like the strike force which needs addressing.
I see what you are saying but we could end up sitting to deep..... I feel we need attack minded CM who prepared to break the lines. Ryan Leonard type of player.Depends- PB has a historical preference for a 442. Even then worrying about getting overrun defensively in MF and so playing one out and out winger with a more defensive wide player on the other side. So doubt your attacking CM is a priority.
only wonder players we've had recently is 'I wonder why they're so ****'Personally i think he will play both to start with, then have an attacking midfielder, 2 wonder players and a forward
Lenny is though not a "creative" MF. He's a high energy combative CM that you need in a CM 2. As was Timlin, Ogogo and Dunne are more in this mode. A Jack Payne is more the creative midfielder but unless you are playing 4231 or 4411 its difficult to fir him in the side. Holmes could play the free role behind in these formations (a couple of the trialists too, and maybe Bridge) but I think the norm is likely to be two up top.I see what you are saying but we could end up sitting to deep.....
