That's what happens when you don't replace the Chief Exec so yes it's Ron's fault.Managers select the targets and players they want - not Ron. He has backed them to the hilt and either the recruitment, management thereafter or both have been shocking since PB left.
Don't see how we can blame Ron for supporting his managers and he must feel more let down than anyone as it's his ££. That said at some point surely someone should have said why do we need 8 CMs who are all similar and no wide players (especially when the numpty managers concerns claimed they wanted to play 442 that by definition requires a LM and a RM..). Its not just the quality and motivation of players signed, but also the fact that we have ended up with such a clearly lopsided squad with no cover in certain key areas.
Ok but Kavanagh has a better success ratio than Ron when it comes to signings yes ?This chief exec thing everybody craves.
I'll give you one example I have detailed knowledge of: Fulham.
They had/have a CEO (he's been moved sideways) responsible for a squad of players that relegated them from the PL in 2014.
They decided to go the stats way, and appoint a 'Moneyball' man to spot talent by way of spreadsheet.
When Slavisa Jokanovic finally wrestled the reins away from this joker, they were promoted back to the PL in 2018.
Then the owner's son took over recruitment and he promptly relegated them again last season.
Chief exec? Stats man? Owner's son? Manager?
Which one obtained the best results? It's not an exact science no matter who you choose.
It was on just before the game against Wimbledon. When was he on talksport
Surely you have to be mindful that the managers didn't actually have the funds to go out and buy any players, we have to rely on picking up freebies. So maybe the wallet isn't being opened as much as you think?Managers select the targets and players they want - not Ron. He has backed them to the hilt and either the recruitment, management thereafter or both have been shocking since PB left.
