Justin Hazell - played once coming on as sub in stoppage time v Telford in the FA Cup in 2007/8 and Femi Orenuga, who wasn’t even 16 when he came on v Luton Town in the 93rd minute (also a cup match) as our youngest ever player, I think in the same season. Never played again either for Southend.

Craig Reid is such a good shout. Such an anonymous player who left no impression whatsoever.

We had another Reid (possibly Read) in, I think, the 90s. He was another forward on loan from Arsenal (?) who similarly was forgotten almost instantaneously. Anyone remember (a) him or (b) his name?

Paul Read? Played a handful of games on loan. Went on to sign for Wycombe. Got injured on his debut vs Birmingham away. Think it was during the Whelan era.

I can't remember the exact game but a cup game comes to mind when Reid got a chance with a start. He just didn't looked interested and got hauled off at half time and his replacement Cauley Woodrow scored within about 10 minutes!
