It's definitely been between Clohessy and Phillips.

Clohessy has been consistently solid for me. I'm not taking anything away from him. Just that I've rarely said at the end of the game 'wow, what a superb performance from Sean'. I almost don't notice him because I've come to expect him to not have a poor game, and he never does. Again, not taking anything away from him, one of the first names on my teamsheet without a doubt. He just doesn't stand out as having been 'brilliant'.

Now for Phillips. He's made the occasional error, as do most L2 centre backs. But the difference between this season and last is unreal. I think there was a stage last season where he wondered if he'd play again. He couldn't shake those injuries off. And in the handful of games he played at the start of the season I was unimpressed. But he battled back and worked his arse off to improve his posture. He has had a sort of 'rebirth' after a year of adversity and he has shocked me this season with his performances, it's been very unexpected. He HAS made me stand up and applaud and say 'wow, that was excellent', he has played through niggly injuries, fought for the cause, chipped in with 8 important goals and stepped in to take the captain's armband on several occasions and looked a good leader.

Phillips it is for me.
