Who would’ve thought fast forward a few months and we’d have an embarrassment of riches in midfield!

I would go for:

Oxley
Elvis, White, Hobson, Hart

Akinola, RHF

But trying to pick 4 out of ANG, Egbri, Olayinka, Macca, Dieng, Demetriou and Taylor is really difficult. Nice headache for MM to have mind you.

Oxley
Elvis Hobson Dieng Hart
Macca Demetriou
Akinola Olayinka ANG
Hackett

Is there a danger of this being postponed for frozen pitch. Its been extremely cold today and a frost is expected

Looking forward to this tomorrow. Liking the look of our squad now. Its been a week of home schooling for many of us, let's hope Roots Hall is a site of home schooling tomorrow. Southend 5 Barrow 0. Nice! Make no bones about it, I want tomorrow to be so harrowing that Barrow and their fans get the heebie jeebies every time they are even reminded of Southend. I know this does not demonstrate a generosity of spirit in these dark times but hey, we lost 4-0 to Harrogate.

That 4 nil loss to Harrogate compared to the team we have developed into imho shows just how well MM has done, Hobson has gone from being a liability to the best player on the pitch.

This will be tough game. Barrow are high scoring team and have the new manager bounce to. Head says 3-1 Barrow. Hope I'm wrong!

The problem at the Hall, as with many other grounds, is that some parts of the pitch remain in the shade of stands. So if the pitch does get frozen then the sun cannot get to work on some of the margins. I can recall instances in the past when the majority of the pitch was playable but areas in the shade were still frozen and deemed too dangerous for play. Fingers crossed the pitch was covered early enough to combat this problem.

At least if any of these home games coming up in Jan get postponed there might be a slight chance that we could go and see the rearranged fixture :Smile2:

Whilst we are discussing the weather , which could be relevant to several of our games in Jan and Feb , can I please request that nobody uses the ‘too cold to snow’ myth.
It's crap - I was in Moscow once and it was very cold AND snowing !
