Good test to start, Boreham Wood have made some impressive signings including Danny Elliott, Zak Brunt and Jack Payne.

Expecting a well organised and physical opposition, from what I've seen in pre-season we'll have to improve on the physicality side if we're going to take anything from this one.

Still not convinced for Ralph being a long term solution at Centre Back, thought he did well filling in but over the years I have been able to watch him (un-injured), I always thought he was better on the left, I do think we need someone else to come in there.

First game of new season, isn't it? Saturday, a day that says "Football". Marvellous. Growing excitement, walk to the pub, down three pints of Old Armpit, walk to the stadium, swift brew and a burger - wot, still no onions? - empty brown sauce bottle, cold hands, cold tea. Kick off moments away, but Old Armpit flushes through quickly.....first visit to toilets. Have to be quick. Ah, that familiar smell. It's good to be back, isn't it? Bugger……missed the goal…......

Powell Hyde Mooney has got to be the front 3 hasn’t it? I see Wreh as more of an impact player, although I could see him linking well with Mr Hyde

I‘ve got a feeling Dan Mooney will absolutely love playing with Hyde. I reckon he’ll get plenty of knockdowns and layoffs whilst Hyde does all the dirty work in the middle.

In case you've missed it, none other than Richard Cadette will be the SUEPA guest on Saturday. I've just spoken to him and he is really looking forward to coming along, it's been a long while since he was last here.

I'll get him on the pitch pre KO tho I can't promise he'll do a 'Stevie Phillips' and milk it all the way over to the West but we'll see. These days I get the guests to see as many folk as poss, taking them round the hospitality areas. If there is time we may get to The Far Post Bar after the match briefly but these things tend to go in a bit of a whirl and there never is enough time.

For those of you in the Legends Lounge (and there are still spaces left at the mo) we do get the guests to stand up and give a bit of a talk on their playing times with us, quite often it is very enlightening!

If this is the case then fantastic. Mooney is one of the best bits of business done in our league this close season, so anything that helps him to flourish is going to be good for us!

Totally agree mate. Think he’ll have a big season for us.

Boreham woods just sold Jacob Mendy to Bollywood FC

Must be good news for us on Saturday that they just sold there best defender
They bought , possibly, our best striker now Wrectum have bought Mendy.

At this rate none of the other teams in the League will have any decent players left and FilmstarUtd.com will have a squad of 492 players

Ticket sales so far are a bit disappointing - just under 4400. Less than last seasons average attendance would be disappointing IMO, although the cost of living is really a big issue for many people.

Interestingly (well, I think it’s interesting lol), the clear laggard is the West Stand which has only 1400 or so tickets sold - other stands are doing better compared to normal. Normally the West would be 2000+ by this point before a league game.

I reckon we should be around 5500+ which isn’t too bad but would still be a little disappointing.

I reckon last season saw a bit of a post covid bounce in numbers which is going to drop off. Hopefully we can make a better start than last year to generate interest and keep numbers and income up. Big pressure for coaching team.

Spot on.

The crowds this season will be a true reflection of how we are doing on (and off) the pitch. The Covid bounce and NL novelty factor are now gone.

We need a good season, or crowds will drop off a fair bit unfortunately. Home and away. But that will be the same for most I think. Maybe the exception being the marketing/financial giant that is Wr£xham.
