Thought I would start this one early, as there is not much else to talk about at the moment!

What is your starting XI?

What will the score be?

Will the Blue Monday deal, boost the attendance?

Will Corr & Sturrock be fit?

Is this Timlin's last game before going back to Swindon?

Here are the stats on The Alex..

Position: 15th

Overall: P11, W2, D7, L2, F25, A17

Overall Form: L, L, W, D, D, W, D, D, D, D, D

Away: P5, W0, D4, L1, F10, A11

Away Form: L, D, D, D, D

Overall Goals Scored Per Game: 2.27
Overall Goals Conceeded Per Game: 1.55

Average Away Goals Scored Per Game: 2.00
Average Away Goals Conceeded Per Game: 2.20

Average Time of 1st Goal Scored: 32.7 mins
Average Time of 1st Goal Conceeded: 37.4 mins

Top Scorer: Shaun Miller 5

So as you can see, Crewe are unbeaten in 9 FL2 games. They have not lost on the road since their first away game at Cheltenham (Aug 14th) where they went down 3-2. This was also their last defeat full stop in FL2. So in effect they have not tasted a league defeat in over 2 months!

They have of course had 5 draws in a row, and in total 7 of the last 8 have ended all square! So Crewe are without doubt the draw specialists.

They have not won on their travels this season. But have only lost 1 (Cheltenham as detailed above) Surprise, surprise they have drawn all 4 away games since. Three of them 1-1 and of course the crazy 5-5 at Chesterfield!

Crewe are also the top scorers in FL2 with 25 goals rattled in already, including a 7-0 win over Barnet and the 5-5 draw at Chesterfield!

So it's probably fair to say that Crewe fans have got their monies worth so far this season!

Smiffy's prediction: A very tough game ahead and our defence will have their work cut out, keeping the free scoring Alex at bay. But, if we can remain tight and cut off their supply line. Then our attacking third will enjoy taking advantage of a leaky Crewe backline. So, all that said, surprise, surprise I predict a 1-1 draw!

Whatever happens, I think it could be an entertaining encounter.

Think we could sneak this but Southend have to learn to concentrate for the full 90 odd minutes, just like Chesterfield Crewe are free scorers but do concede so when the chances come our way we have to take at least some of them. Il go for 2 1 win with Corr getting a brace.

The home performances have been indifferent to say the least. I just fancy it all to come together on Saturday.

3-0 Grant, Simpson, Hall

Think this has a home win all over it! Crewe have been free scoring but also pretty dire in defence!

3 - 1 Southend Grant, Pato and Soares!

On paper this should be a cracking game. Crewe, as always under Gradi, are a good footballing side and that should help us as we tend to play better against sides who are willing to keep the ball on the ground and not afraid to attack us. If we defend properly we should be able to nick a win as they clearly aren't the best at the back. 3-2 to us, goals from Paterson, Fairhurst and Coughlan.

Going for a boring first half then Grant and Corr will knock in the goals and it will be a comfortable 2-0 win for the blues :)

Southend don't do comfortable 2-0 wins at the very best it will be a very nervy 2-1, with goal machine Grant and a 6 yard Corr header.............not forgetting a Crewe substitute with 10 mins left (Zola).

Anyone got the inside track on Corr and Sturrock's injury situation?
Saw Blair in Tesco's Monday night, he said he might be back Saturday and that they have found a problem with his running style, so should come back running quicker. Seemed a really nice guy

Those odds on Clohessy are interesting, he's been getting a lot more front line action in recent games with some decent efforts from distance and the odd cross which could easily edge its way in.

I really hope that after last weekend's dramatic loss of 3 points, the team will have got their determination sorted and make sure we kill this one off early. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet though so I go for a 2-1 win.

Yep, it's caused by imbalance as a result of an excess of hair on his neck!

Apologies in advance for a crap result - an unexpected visit to Southend means this is my first game of the season - have not seen the Blues win for two seasons (there again not many others have:winking:)

Shrimpero broke his losing/drawing streak at Hereford so here's hoping you will on Saturday.

Afraid not OBL, I didn't have the heart to tell him to cut it off. Apparentley he's not been using his Glutes

2-1 to Southend. Goals from Coughlan & Fairhurst.

Thanks to the Blue Monday offer I'll be there on saturday, hope Corr is ok to play though I'm guessing it's pretty doubtful. So I'd say same team as Chesterfield. Crewe have scored and conceded alot so I'm hoping it'll be a fairly open entertaining game!
