Pre-Match Thread Southend United v Redbridge, Tuesday 5th December, 19.45 k.o., Essex Senior Cup

Apparently we enter the Essex Senior Cup this week - probably a game we could do without to be honest!

We’re playing Redbridge FC who ply their trade in the Isthmian North. Like us they had their game postponed for a frozen pitch on Saturday. Unlike us though their previous two games were also postponed too (waterlogged pitches).

I have not included a poll for the starting XI as I assume not many (if any) first teamers will be involved in the game.

The kick off time is a guess as our club have not publicised it yet but Redbridge FC have posted an advert on their Twitter feed.

All in all a bit of a shambles the typifies the pre-takeover state of our club.

The draw for the 4th round has already been made and the winners will travel to Chelmsford City.

Opening this up though as a place to post your thoughts about the game.

Personally feel we should forfeit again and take the fine (was it last season we did this?). We haven’t got the numbers to be messing around with games like this. Cheers again Ron.

Not sure if the rules allow us to stick the U19’s out? They might be a bit out of their depth though, unfortunately.

They clearly do. Hornchurch did just that and lost heavily to Hashtag.

Unfair. They have been selling tickets for it (yes, really!) on the official website for some days. Your guess is correct.
Selling tickets is a bit different to publicised though - nothing I would class as publicity has come from the club since announcing the date.

Could be a game to try out some different things i guess? Formations perhaps. But in reality its one we shouldnt bother with. 2 injuries and were even more ****ed then we are now

It will be the U19's playing plus Collin, rather than the first team (what's left of them)

A reminder for anyone wanting to go and cheer the youngsters on:

Blues enter this season's BBC Essex Senior Cup at the third round stage, and will play Redbridge FC at Roots Hall on Tuesday 5th December at 7:45pm.

The East Stand will be open for this fixture and adult tickets will cost £5, with concession tickets priced at £1.

Tickets are available online - get yours here.

Redbridge are currently 12th in the Isthmian League Division One North.

NO trains on C2C and only 1 train per hour on Greater Anglia due to strike action.

SOUTHEND United goalkeeper Collin Andeng Ndi looks set to return to action in Tuesday night's Essex Senior Cup clash against Redbridge.

The 20-year-old has been sidelined since injuring his ankle in Blues' 3-0 defeat at York City in mid-September. But Shrimpers boss Kevin Maher expects Andeng Ndi to feature in tomorrow's third round clash at Roots Hall.

"Collin has been training but there’s nothing like match minutes so he should play tomorrow," said Maher. "We’ll see where he’s at but it should be good for him."

The rest of Blues' squad will be made up of players from the under 19 squad.

Does that include young Beau Macdonald?

I’m very surprised Vilhete isn’t getting a runout. Wood hasn’t been playing much too ,and Demi not at all.
