Echo News Southend United winger Louis Walsh working closely with Darren Currie in bid to prove his worth

This is good news for me, as it shows the coaching staff see something in Walsh to kindle and develope. I think he has shown something positive everytime he has appeared in a blue shirt. Also a positive in having the coaching structure we now have, where a player can get one on one time dedicated to him. A positive for everyone not just the two directly involved.

He was very good on friday, but only for about 15 mins. If he can be more consistent he could turn out to be very good for us.
Just this.
There was a half second when he lined up an early shot just inside the box, but took too long.
That speed of thought comes with practice, or is it always there, but just needs honing?

In periods he showed some really positive play against Grimsby .... definitely something to build on. Has hidden talent IMO and glad Currie is trying to unearth that ....

It's a difficult position and it's getting harder. Teams cannot afford to carry any passengers off the ball, it's not enough to go gliding past players, it's not even enough to have a great end product any more, you need to be able to do the defensive side as well especially if you want your manager to feel he can select two strikers for you to aim at.

I like the look of Louis Walsh on the ball but he sounds like he is taking a lot on board. All the interviews I have seen with him suggest he is an intelligent young man who wants to work hard at his game. Promising signs.

Just tell him to pass the Ball rather than dribble it up his own backside.
Tell him all players need to defend when not in possession.
