Not a proper pre-match thread for this one, but I'm sure a few will be heading down there to see our fringe players and youths take on Braintree Town who themselves are likely to have some familiar faces in their number, including John White and Matt Rush. Whether Jon Benton (who scored from a free-kick in their 3-1 defeat on Saturday) is able to play against his parent club, remains to be seen.

Only the East Stand will be open and it's £5 for adults, £1 for concessions, cash on the gate apparently (according to Braintree's Twitter - there's nothing about it on our website).

I'm looking forward to this - Ex Blue Leon Davies will probably also line up against us.
Hopefully we will give our fringe/ returning players a run out , so we might see the likes of Clifford , Lomas , Scott-Morris , Crowhurst , Davis , Murphy & Wreh ...maybe even Arnie in goal???

The club have disclosed those details on the website, although it could probably do with a bump, and it was heavily trailed over the tannoy at Roots Hall on Saturday: https://www.southendunited.co.uk/ne...-confirmed-for-essex-senior-cup-fourth-round/

On the pitch - it's not looking great, but I think it looks better than it did on Boxing Day and definitely better than it looked against Altrincham. Before that game it looked like the grass was cut really short which didn't help.

It's not cutting up particularly at least, certainly not like a few years back!

Not just the 3 you mention ,there’ll probably be 2 other Blues in their line-up :Leon Davies and Jack Paxman.

With the rain this morning, they could really do with calling this one off tonight.

The pitch is going to be in a right old mess. ☹️

Better hope we do not get a lot more rain and Trophy game on Saturday is postponed. Otherwise that will be moved to the Tuesday and Braintree game will have to be moved again?
