SOUTHEND United’s stand-in captain Luke Prosser refused to blame his side’s mounting injury list as an excuse for last night’s 2-1 defeat against Cheltenham Town at Roots Hall.

So Luke was disap-pointed! That's not fair. He's only been captain for a couple of games and they start poking at his disap just because we lose. Give him a break.

It comes with the territory of being Captain I guess

Of course it an excuse Luke, no injuries and maybe you and one other would not have been playing in a defence that wasnt up to it.

IMO Prosser has had a better season than both Phillips and Barker , and has been unlucky to be dropped on a couple of occasions

Apart from his total mare against Port Vale 2 seasons ago I think he's always been harshly dropped. I think he and Cresswell have looked our best partnership this season.
