Southend United's midfielder move is held up

Southend United's midfield move is "help up"?

I could understand this if the d was close to the p on the keyboard.

So first of all, Paul Sturrock took ages in identifying 'the right player'.

Then the 'Right player' has been indetified but we had to wait until "next week" but as he is that good Luggy was prepared to wait a little longer.

Now, this player is "injured" so we will wait and see.

I may be pessimistic but it all sounds excuse after excuse to me. What's the next excuse going to be, Spicer had a worldy Saturday so there's no reason to sign another player?

Big fan of Sturrock. He has done brilliantly for us with the limitations he has faced. BUT....

Something is not right here. Surely we have other options, which we should be ready to utilise should one fall through. After all, we have been under umbargo long enough to have some options.

Let's face it, we are not the most well endowed when it comes to CMs. With Timlin due another suspension and Spicer - well being Spicer - it is not hard to see where our weak link is. How many teams have 2 CMs on their books? Blimey, Sunday league teams have more.

Come on. Let's get a couple more in and win us this promotion we are capable of winning. And no more excuses. We have had plenty of time to identify targets.

Sean McAllister is now on trial at Port Vale and scored in their 4-0 reserve team win over Wrexham.
