The biggest issue with Kenilworth Road is there's no pubs nearby. The area around the ground is a bit shabby, but if we're all totally honest with ourselves so is the area around Roots Hall.

It was actually quite good in August after the game as there was some kind of religious festival going on which meant everyone was out and about enjoying themselves. Well, everyone except our fans after another fruitless trip there.

I'm probably in a weird minority but I much prefer visiting quirky grounds with character like Kenilworth Road, Layer Road or Cold Blow Lane, to name but three, than the soulless Meccano erections that are replacing/have replaced them now. It is always a novel experience to enter Luton's ground through someone's front room, I doubt their new place will have such "atmosphere".

Probably the only new ground I visited that had it's own similar quirky charm was Nene Park, and look what happened to that.

It is, in my view, a sad financial fact of the modern game that in not too many years all such grounds will just be a fading memory.

We'll probably still be at Roots Hall though.
Leicester City's old Filbert Street had a very similar turnstile entrance to Luton.

Have a look at Brentfords new ground thats a bit quirky as they have had to squeeze it in between roads and a railway line. 17,500 capacity looks good so far. Probably Spurs new ground as well as they have at least given the home fans a complete end without carving it up with corporate seats like at the Emirates.

What with the new delays to Fossets Farm we are going to be at Roots Hall for some time yet still. Let's hope it can last as Ron might actually be forced to spend some money on it for the first time ever!

And with a bit of luck you will have reached that mature age when you forget where you have been previously @seenyeva kryevyetka . That way every time you enter Roots Hall it will be a new, novel experience. It works for me:Smile2:

I was surprised at how good we looked in a 532 last week.

If SCP can keep exactly the same side I don't see any reason it should change. When was the last time we had the luxury of keeping a winning line up the same for the following week?!?

Should be a great game!

Compared to the site at Fossetts it's extremely cramped, hence the weird-looking stands, and difficult to make out any car-parking. Still, at least they had a council fully backing their move....

Popped into B&L this morning for last hour of training. For all of that time they were majoring on shooting practice!

10 out of eleven shoots on target at Bradford. Seems that they're looking for 100% this saturday.

The fact that they are an established championship massively helps.

SOUTHEND United’s Simon Cox is revelling in his new strike partnership with Stephen Humphrys but believes the best is yet to come.

Help me here. When did the old delays become the new delays? It just seems to be one big long never-ending delay stretching decades.

Yeah great news for cox, cox is a real handful alone himself so to have a mobile lump up top with him will give defenders a massive headache so they’ll have to be on there toes at all times.

Hopper and Humphrys up top with Cox in the 10 could do bits next season
