Well, after 3 long months of no league football, the drought comes to an end today with the visit of Northerner's Huddersfield Town who are marking their centenary. Lavish spenders their purchases include ex-Shrimpers stalwart Peter Clarke and Watford Striker Theo Robinson. Along with a young core of players they are a promising side and could well get promotion.

Most recent team in a Friendly 3-1 victory over Wrexham;

Alex Smithies, Lee Peltier, Robbie Williams, Michael Collins, Peter Clarke (c), Andy Butler, Gary Roberts, Anthony Kay, Theo Robinson, Robbie Simpson, Anthony Pilkington

Our most recent team against Stevenage Borough in a 2-1 defeat;

Mildenhall, Francis, White, Heath, Gilbert, Laurent, Grant, McCormack, Moussa, Walker, Revell.

Since then we have invested in another defender, Jean Yves M'Voto and Sawyer will miss today's game whilst Adam Barrett faces a fitness test to be fit. A close game with a tight score-line but Huddersfield's weak link is Robbie Williams, if we can get our right-winger to use his pace then we can take advantage down that flank.

Head says 2-1 Huddersfield
Heart says 3-2 Southend

I have just got home from holiday and need to unpack etc so won't be there today, but hope that everybody that goes today sees a great game and the Blues coming away with 3 points.

am really gutted i couldn't make as am working tonight but al be there in spirt ;)

Blimey, Swindon losing 5-0 to the Gills, Bentley got the first, and they've just scored 2 in the last couple of mins. is that the sign of a good Gills side, or Swindon making an early bid for the divisions whipping boys?
