As it currently stands, based on the odds for this Sunday's THREE key matches, the percentage chances, of reaching the play-offs, for the three teams capable of a play-off position are as follows:

Millwall 55.91%

Southend 33.45%

Rochdale 10.64%

Based on where we were, after our first TWELVE matches, I think Phil Brown would have dreamt about having a 1 in 3 chance of making the play-offs, with one game to go.

Bearing in mind, this percentage chance will almost certainly go up, if Walsall can take a point off Port Vale, this evening.

So we require lots of 'Positive Thoughts', for the Saddlers this evening......

Is this either breaking, news or breaking news?

Out of interest, what is the source of these stats?

There are 27 different permutations from this Sunday's three keys matches.

15 of these outcomes, results in Millwall reaching the play-offs.
8 of these outcomes, results in Southend reaching the play-offs.
4 of these outcomes, results in Rochdale reaching the play-offs.

The odds of the three keys matches have now been publicised, although Southend's match will probably be adjusted, based on tonight's match.

So each of the 27 outcomes' chances can be quantified, so, it is just a matter of summing these chances for each of the three possible end scenarios.

Further to this, the best odds on teams to make the top six...

Millwall - 5/6
Southend - 7/4
Rochdale - 15/2

So if you are feeling pessimistic about our chances you could (say) put £20 on Millwall to make £16.66 and £2 on Rochdale to make £15. If we make the top six you're £22 out of pocket but filled with joy.
