A decent potential thread at risk of getting lost in the Phil Brown/Sunderland thread.

So I can definitely remember Bryan Robson getting sacked shortly after the sheer embarrassment of his West Brom side only drawing at home to us*

Billy McNeill definitely got the tin tack at Man City shortly before we played them in 1986. Certainly too late for there to have been any changes to the programme.

Andy T is sure there are plenty of others.

Fire away!

*relegation the previous year and a poor start to the season may also have been factors

Any manager that gets a "vote of confidence" might as well start to empty his office!

Can we count Lee Clark the other day.

I'm sure when we beat Sunderland under Tilly that Niall Quinn was sacked straight after.

It's not the Tilly season, for the other sackings, just checked, but I am sure there was a season where this happened. My gut feeling it was when we were in the Championship at some point.

Just remember it became a bit of a kiss of death playing us.

Karl Robinson from MK Dons last season.

Took a lot of satisfaction out of that one. It was about time we stuffed them.

They were horrendous that day, no wonder there was massive pressure on him

The guy from Peterborough who then worked for us for a few weeks.
Wouldn't be surprised if Walsall lose theirs soon

Steve Coppell resigned as Bristol City manager and left football altogether after we beat them in the league cup a few years ago.
