Well that's how Nile Ranger describes it. It's the little flick-ons, the triangle passing down the line. It now has a forward momentum, rather than too much sideways and backwards like the start of the season. Only sensible hoofs(Even Thompson has cut most of that out from his game). Many players are chipping in with goals. It's our new found speed on the count attack. We now have more players bombing into their penalty area. Prime example being Atkinson, and boy has it payed off. We have gone from boring, painful to watch dross, to very exciting, very entertaining football. I now wonder when we will score, and how many, rather than if we will score.

Well done Nile for describing anything to do with Southend as sexy. I must be honest that word did not instantly spring into my mind. If I'm to really buy in to his description then the way to do it is for him to score a league goal at Roots Hall, now that would be sexy. Obviously if he scored from a ricochet off his bum or todge then that would be super sexy for Mrs RHB as she likes that kind of thing.

The last 20 minutes against Swindon Town and the first 20 against Bradford City, were the best examples of how things have changed for the better. We were unplayable at times. Same with the first half on Boxing Day.

Teams are now having to set-up to counter us.

The atmosphere in the last 20 against Swindon was electric - how we didn't win that I'll never know. If we carry this form forward then surely it's just a matter of time until someone gets a 5 or 6 goal thrashing...

Cannot wait for Nile to score at RH too, the roof will come off for sure :-)

It's a simple game.

Put the ball into the large rectangle shape thing more times than the oppo.

How,

Attack with pace and purpose.....2 targets in their third backed up by the midfield .

I honestly believe some gaffers over think on tactics.

Is it so hard for you mrsblue to give Phil Brown even the slightest bit of credit , he's got his tactics pretty spot on lately .

Hmmm ,

Phil played one forward forever.....after the Dale debacle it all changed.....maybe player power, who knows.

Apart from the first 9 (including cups) games of this season......Oh and the whole of last season....and of course all the way from January to the end of the promotion season.

Football not simple as some make out.

Come on Rigsby even you know that is stretching the truth. Jack Payne played as an attacking midfielder just in behind Barnett/Mooney, only on very few occasions did we see any two of Mooney, Hunt, Barnett or even Pigott start together. And yes, the end of the promotion season, but after Barry Corr had been asking to play with two up front for nearly two years.

Exactly!

90% of games I watched we had the lone forward being battered whilst his team mates launched the ball at his throat..then add the bizarre keep ball constantly going sideways at crab pace before eventually the launch up the pitch...awful stuff.

Fast forward

Against Don's we played with pace and purpose first half with 2 forwards up the pitch....worked very nicely indeed.

Obviously Barnett replaced Pigott so they could not have started together. That aside we had two of these forwards starting together on at least 25 of the games last season and that was with Hunt Injured.

Pigott must have played around 30 times for us in 2015 and he always had another forward with him.

The very reason Jack Payne started scoring goals was because he was not playing as a mid-fielder but higher up the pitch. He was getting on the end of headers flicked on by Barnett at places like Barnsley and Rochdale.

Even Weston was used as a second forward on a couple of occasions before he was injured.

Could swear the current top 2 in the premier league , both of who are playing exceptional football, with goals aplenty are not playing the guaranteed 2 up top... someone should tell Klopp and Conte that they are over thinking it !

Excellent players can play any system....average league 1 player cannot, hence why they are league 1.
