Can't stand the end of season tension so I am escaping with the wife to Southwold for the weekend next Friday.

Anyone recommend eateries, pubs, massage parlours, chip shops or any entertainment ?

Cheers.

Only ever been there once dropping off a motor. Dark and closed by the look of it and that was mid week. Better take sandwiches.

Really good pub there called the Admiral Lord Nelson (I think). Nice food and great beer as long as you like Adnams.

Avoid the chip shop on the pier.

The amusement arcade on the pier however is utterly bizarre and well worth a visit. It has strange machines like dog simulators.

Ken

The pub next too the brewery is excellent but a bit pricey.
Be warned though they will think your a very very young man in Southwold though.
Enjoy Soutwold.

Drove through Southwold once. Pensioners paradise by the looks of it. Cannot believe how much the beach huts go for!

Love the place. Good mix of pubs... Bell Inn at Walberswick is nice after a good walk. Nelson is proper olde pub but gets v busy. Red Lion and Sle Bay Inn are both good too. Would highly recommend both the brewery and distillery tours. It's not cheap anywhere I'm afraid. I got engaged there so very fond memories!

Beware if driving. The old crusties have their own system as they appear to have had their indicators de-activated.
