Great Britain are through to the Speedway World Cup Final on Saturday after a top display last night to beat defending champions Sweden, Poland and Hungary. Arena Essex' Mark Loram scored maximum points.

Sweden and Poland now go into a race off on Thursday along with the second and third placed teams from tonights meet between Australia, Czech Rep, Denmark and Italy (the winner of tonight joins Britain in the final).

The top 2 from the race-off will also be in the final.

Score:

We will be joined in the final by Denmark, with Australia and Czech Rep taking up the last 2 places in Thursdays race-off.

Oh, and Joe Screen is to be replaced by Gary Havelock in Saturdays final for GB.
 
i couldn't believe the aussies didn't go straight through,with the likes of leigh adams and jason crump they were once again favourites to win the whole thing.why has middlo replaced screeny with havelock?

Apparently he consulted Screen over it who told him to put Havelock in because he's the better rider at Poole (where the final is being held). Fair play to him for that (giving up his place in the world cup team for the good of the team!), especially seeing as I thought he rode well on Monday.

Although havvey rode for Poole I think he is f**king sh*t round there
 
Brilliant, brilliant stuff tonight. Poland and the Swedes go through to Saturday's finale who join GB and Denmark. Love to go along but have some bunch of mugs to watch play football ...

Yep, Sweden and Poland(including Arena Essex' Gregorz Walasek) go through with much-fancied Australia going out, Saturday should be good....
