Afternoon all,

A quick reminder for any speedway fans otu there that the Speedway World Cup is upon us....simply put, this is made up of two qualifying rounds, with the two winners heading straight for the final, and the 2nd and 3rd placed teams heading for a four-team play-off to decide the other two finalists.

Saturday saw the first qualifier, with Russia claiming an automatic place in the final (big shock!), and Denmark (defending champs) and Sweden having to settle for a play-off berth.

More importantly, Great Britain kick off their campaign in the second qualifier, live on Sky Sports tonight (7.30pm I believe), and face Australia, Slovenia and Poland, hoping to progress to the finals with their youngest team ever.

Should be a good'un!
