Telegraph football correspondent Henry Winter, voted number one sports journalist in the UK by Press Gazette readers, was presented with a mounted set of the Sport Top 50 pages at our offices last night.

Other top names from the world of sport journalism attending last night’s bash at Press Gazette’s headquarters, off Fleet Street, included Daily Mail sports columnist Des Kelly (a two-time Sports Journalists Association award-winner) and Times chief football writer Patrick Barclay.

The Press Gazette top fifty sport journalists list, and drinks reception, was supported by London 2012 Olympics sponsors Lloyds TSB.

The Top 50 is only available in the print edition of Press Gazette. But here are the top ten:

As part of our busy Communications Department you will be in charge of our expanding publications portfolio produced to the highest standards and reflecting all aspects of our association’s work. Whether it is our quarterly RealPower magazine, our authoritative ‘State of the Industry’ report, our Annual Review, our briefing sheets or any other edition, we feel we are rightly proud of our printed and electronic publications output. The ideal candidate Educated to degree standard, you have a background in publishing, with strong project management and project delivery experience. You have a proven track record in seeing projects through from conception and commissioning through to hard copy publication, and an understanding of all the publishing steps involved. You have an excellent knowledge of print production, both on the software/dtp and print floor sides. With a keen eye for design, you are equally adept at writing briefs and researching images, as you are co-ordinating project flow between printers, proofreaders, journalists, dtp operators and our audiences. Importantly, you need to be able to deliver to deadlines, as many of our publication dates coincide with our highly successful conference and exhibition events, while keeping a careful eye on budgets. The Role In this role you will manage the progression of jobs from approved copy through to print stage. It will require ensuring that optimum communication is achieved through effective use of words and design.
