The Nelson .. blimey. Many memories of drinking in there, even back in my teens (of course I didn’t go in there when I wasn’t of legal age....ummmmm...)
Well, I did and was asked to leave on one occasion !

Yeah drugs use to control me most games, no more thankfully
Just shows the mindset of some people on here liking this post!?
Youve never met friends in a pub? You can go in them without getting drunk you know?So what? Can't people go to football without getting ****ed up first?!!!!?
Yeah mate really well! Be good to catch up soon for a beerGood for you. Keeping well I trust?
Impressive, most people wiped their feet on the way out so to get slung out commands respect.
Especially for a girl !! Back in the mid 70's I should add.
Used to go in Nelson about 12 years ago before matches. Once we were sitting chatting and suddenly realised it had gone very quiet, the police were doing a drugs raid and had marched everyone outside except for us probably because we were a mixed group ranging in age from late 50s to young teenagers. We wondered why 5 mins before the raid one of Southend’s most notorious had asked if we minded if his teenage son could sit with us for a while. Goodness knows what he had about his person but we were in all innocent completely trusting.
No, meet them in the ground.Youve never met friends in a pub? You can go in them without getting drunk you know?
Congratulations you have just asked the most stupid question on here In years, try not to paint everyone with the same brush just saying. So what? Can't people go to football without getting ****ed up first?!!!!?
Wasn't there a short lived fanzine called '45 minutes more in the Spread Eagle'?
The title was based on climbing over the seats in the West, rather than queuing in aisles and on steps to get out - and how many minutes saved in a season - or did I dream it!
Never should of blocked it off. The doing a few laps through the toilet doors was always fun. Alan and his mrs should of put an offer in to the brewery to buy it off them. As a structure it’s way better than the boar. The boar is just flat and small. I’m sure they are making more money going to boar now though. And railway will be busier than ever. Probably turn to flats now.
...
So now we go the Railway the problem their is that Monday to Wednesday it doesn't open till 1.00, other days 12.00 pm
Its not easy being a lunchtime drinker!
If it’s not easy then just stop.
Should have chinned your right there that afternoon ??
Probably not the best idea to chin the bloke who was helping you stay upright...
