Echo News Stan Collymore keen to come to the rescue of Southend United

Would love this to happen. A man with the club at heart! Is this likely to happen...... probably not.

A likelihood of a change of ownership at this point whilst the development is ongoing is vanishingly small. It would be a distraction and complication that neither Ron or the business would countenance for one second.

For now all the focus needs to be on sorting the permanent manager situation before the end of the season so all focus can be on building the team and preparing for next season. Anything else then the start of next season will demonstrate zero learnings from the previous two.

However, I do think that Stan's intervention can help by putting pressure on Ron to start concentrating more on football matters. He's neglected the club for too long, making or supporting a series of bad decisions that make the overall situation worse. Yes, it's cost him lots of money, as no doubt he will remind us, but he has wasted this money! If supporters see that alternative ownership and an alternative plan/ future is waiting in the wings, Ron will need to step up.

Some very well reasoned words from Stan there. Now it is in the public domain will Ron at least give Stan the courtesy of a reply? I wonder!

I find it surprising, I was going to say incredible, Stan can't even get a reply.

How hard is it to politely say 'I don't think you can do what you say. Thanks, but no thanks'?

I was going to add how hard would it be for Stan to call RM, and ask him over the phone?
I'm sure he would know then.
