Stan Collymore "Lifting the Lid" Interview

Just heard Phil Brown's latest interview on iFollow. After hearing that can't say I think there's too much chance of Stan (or anyone else other than Ricky Duncan perhaps) getting offered a Director of Football job with SUFC.

That will be me then.

I just say it how I see it. I've always spoke my mind my friend as you know.

Actually I was referring to the post above.

Hey Tangledupinblue

Hope you're well.

Nice to see Hadenoughblue has your back and I'm worthy of one of your 30,000 posts!

I have influence only of my own life and affairs which are healthy and happy so I know you'll be happy with that as I'm sure you must have cheered me on once upon a time!

I honestly find it astounding that any former player offering support, tangible help and energy could ever be seen as anything other than a positive influence, but I guess many have been used to having plenty to complain about in recent times.

Like Hadenoughblue, when I'm in the area my invite for a coffee and a natter is open to you to, maybe I could breathe some positivity into your day and I could alay any anxieties you have.

If you think I'm at the point in my life where I'm looking to influence a National League football club for anything other than a desire to see your club back in the league ( as opposed to travel the world as a sports broadcaster and spend precious time with a 90 year old Mom and family) then I'm all ears!

Today I received messages and emails from 6 Premier League clubs, 4 Championship, 6 League one, our old friend Barry Fry, 2 football recruitment specialists all for free, along with raising £7k for the Trust disadvantaged kids fund in order to give your club every advantage next season.

Add that to the £3.4m received for me 28 years ago, being a big part of staving off relegation and in every interview with every broadcaster over 20 years telling them how happy I was at Roots Hall, I'm not sure what more I can do to persuade you that I'm genuine! ?

Like Hadenoughblue, if you don't like me for whatever reason, that's fine. Plenty of players and managers and owners at Villa that I've really not liked. But when they prove beyond reasonable doubt that they have my club's best interest at heart, that'll do me.

I'm here because I want to be not because I have to be.

Stay safe and well, coffee on me on the seafront soon ?
That will be me then.

I just say it how I see it. I've always spoke my mind my friend as you know.

Hi Stan.I'm fine thanks. From what I've seen of you on zoom recently ,you are too!

Like Hadenoughblue I'm a little sceptical about the outcome(s) of your recent involvement with SUFC.Not that I doubt your positivity. It's just, as someone else said on this thread ,the Chairman and Phil Brown are both strong characters in their own right.Personally I doubt there's room for three!

Anyway many thanks for getting involved. And you're quite right I really enjoyed seeing you play for us.
