Breaking News Stockdale signs on Emergency loan

Very very decent GK, better pedigree than anything we’ve had since Federici who is up there as one of the best we’ve had. Welcome David and good luck.

Don’t think there’ll be many better GKs in League 1. Doubt he’ll come cheap either, despite Birmingham’s financial issues.

Couldn't really go into a league game with Bishop and a 16 year old on the bench, welcome David.

I assumed something was up when Seaden played for the u18s this morning. They’re 3-2 up apparently.

Our defenders must be on a high anď up for this now. A real big statement from the club and SCP about desire to get results.

Watched him play many times for brighton in the championship he's a excellent keeper , he can throw it further than most keepers can kick it , he loves to release the ball quickly and it's a very good bit of business getting a keeper of his quality for however long we can .

SOUTHEND United new boy David Stockdale insists he jumped at the chance to be reunited with Chris Powell at Roots Hall.

As disappointed as Bishop will be, this is a very sensible move in theory. The guy has spent a lot of his career at a higher level and on paper is possibly the best keeper at the club. Yes we have a young player who will have been hoping to get his chance, but this seems like the best move for the club, which has to be the priority.
