I've heard that he has had an argument with the board, and that they are looking to replace him with Peter Taylor.

Well if true that would put a few more "bum's on seats", and it would stop this dreadfull hoofball we are playing in most games. I for one would welcome Spud back with open arms.

He's currently manager / coach of the Bahrain National Team, nice tax free salary no doubt, contrast that to working for RM, no chance he'll come here.

As a club manager he has achieved little. No thanks.

That's harsh, he's had more success than Sturrock and coached at a far higher level.

He took Gillingham into what is now the Championship (Old Div 1)

He took Brighton into what is now the Championship (Old Div 1)

He took Hull into the Championship and laid excellent foundations for the club to build on before leaving, many say without his restructuring of the club on the playing side they would never have gone on to reach the Premiership.

He's had his failures too but most were under very hard working conditions on severely limited budgets.

Taylor vs Sturrock, give me Taylor every time but it won't happen.

Toungue in cheek comment?

But if not... No thanks, I have bad memories from when here was manager here last time. Keith Dublin for Tommy Mooney pah!

If and it's a big 'if' Sturrock is to leave (and I hope not) then I would hope that Ricky Duncan be given the chance to show what he can do at Seniors level

Ah, the fickleness of football fans (especially the ones on here). One bad performance and people are questioning the manager and discussing a possible replacement. Get a grip. He's done a good job since he got here. We have 2 home games coming up this week, players on their way back from injuries/suspensions. 2 wins and I'm sure we'll all be dreaming of promotion again.

Fair do's. But the original question had nothing to do with the manager leaving. Paul Sturrock stated last season that he had prepared a blueprint for re-structuring the club from top to bottom. Clearly his resources remain limited.

So has the masterplan been put into motion or is it still at drawing board stage ?

1 bad game ?

I think YOU need to get real, there's been several bad performances already this season.

In fairness if he does come to work for us chances are that will be tax free too.........

probably no better or worse then the majority of teams in l2

barcelona we aint, and never have been!

I wouldn't expect comparisons with Barcelona, but I would have expected to win more games than we have.

I think the point is that there's been no "statement of intent" at no point this season so far, or when we have made one (i.e. Port Vale away), the week after we get a worse result to lesser opponents.

It sounds like we have deserved to lose the games we've lost as well by virtue of some pretty dour hoofball on our part...

The cricket season has now ended, so I can start attending some games starting with Gillingham tomorrow....Anything less than wins tomorrow and Saturday, and I'll be resigned to "mid-table mediocrity" again.

And there will be plenty more. Just like there were under Tilly, just like there were under Webb, just like there would be under any manager.

Really? Does the season stop at the end of September now then?

This place gets more and more ridiculous/fickle/over-the-top with every passing season.

It's called "Statement of intent" Mr Beefy. Some of us need to get some kind of sign that the team is going to show any ambition before making noises about promotion....

As for my attendance at SUFC....This is not dependant on league position....I'll be there as much as I can supporting the Blues whether we're top of the league or bottom, so you can get to **** on calling me "fickle", pal.

It just annoys me that we're destined for a repeat season to last year. And I think I'm entitled to voice my opinions on an open forum, no?
