There have been loads of differing opinions as to how successful our beloved Southend will be in the forthcoming campaign... of course some of us will be right and some will be wrong.

For our part, we have talked the talk! but now it is time to walk the walk, get behind the management and squad, forget our differences of opinion and support our team with passion and pride.

Nothing that we say now, will change anything... The squad we have are here to stay and it's a pretty decent squad too! strength in depth, competition in every department, a very capable management team and hopefully the same spirit that was in evidence since the present management took the helm.

Personally, I think we will have a good season and whilst I want to see our team going places [now!], I am aware that it takes more than just a very good team to make it out of this league.

Having a vociferous support may just give us an edge in many games, but the rest is down to how much our players want to win and this is often where doubts spring to mind, so lets give them a massive Roots Hall Roar this afternoon as they start the new season and plenty of encouragement [win, lose or draw!] throughout this campaign.
