Sufc retro shirt

I am sure that the 68/69 shirt was darker than that shirt .
It was a lot darker, almost black and was worn with the same coloured socks and white shorts. At the end of the season the Football League banned us from continuing with it because they reckoned it clashed with the refs all black kit. We then trialled the West Brom navy blue and white striped shirt, white shorts and socks for a season followed by Chelsea's royal blue shirts/shorts and white socks, keeping the latter up to around 74/75.

The above shirt is slightly different to the one's that you can currently buy on line from TOFFS and some other stores. In the season of 1968-69 the shirt above had a blue stripe on the neck as well as the cuffs. Also the badge on the shirt was only dark blue in colour, however the same badges on the club jackets of both Ernie Shepherd & Geoff Hudson were in colour as shown on the shirt that is available on line.

Yes, TOFFS clearly got it wrong when replicating the 1968/69 shirt. Everything is wrong about it. Wrong colour, no stripe on the neck or cuffs, and the badge. Surprising really, as they know football fans are knowledgeable and fussy about these things. You would have thought they would have done a better job.
