Having just read through the matchday programme from the game on saturday, I've just spoted in the Ricky Duncan interview about the youth team. Some interesting points in there and well worth a read if you haven't had a chance to as yet.

Not sure if people knew this, but I certainly didn't:

1) Johnny Herd has signed a pro deal with the Club. Think its for 2 years, I can't remember that.

2) Luke Thurlbourne, Rhys Henry, Jamie Forshaw and James Lindie have all been handed "development contracts" with us.

3) We are becoming a European wide name in terms of Youth Team football, with competitions coming up in Denmark, Holland to name a few.

4) Duncan spent time with St Pauli, a Bundesliga side in division two, and we have arranged a playr exchange programme as well as coaching education between the two sides.

Like I say, have a read through it if you get a chance. The future looks very bright for Southend United. Also, was a nice touch to see the Northampton fans appaulding our Under 16's on saturday.

Keep up the good work Ricky.
