Southend United were made to pay for their missed opportunities as a clinical Crystal Palace u21 side inflicted a 3-0 pre-season defeat on Kevin Maher’s side at Roots Hall.

I saw the game and he looked pretty useful to me, so if we did bring him in it wouldn't be the end of my world.

I am wondering if Kev and the management team are having second thoughts about an on-loan striker from a Premier club. He hinted this week that he was keeping the options open.

According to some Chesterfield supporters, the 25 year old 6' 4"striker, Joe Quigley, seems to be out of favour. He was signed from Yeovil for a substantial undisclosed fee in January 2022 but does not seem to have settlled there.

Quigley might be available on an permanent or even loan basis.

Fair play. Maybe I was being bit harsh.... 1 positive about this loan is he already gained the experience of playing mens football with his 2 previous loans, hopefully it's third time lucky with us.
