Two Sunderland players went AWOL and don't want to play for the club again. The trouble is that these were expensive players on silly money a week. The pair joined in the summer 2016 transfer window – Djilobodji from Chelsea for £8m, Ndong from Lorient for a club-record £13.6m. Sunderland had to pay the final instalments this week, even tho the players are missing. Disgraceful really. Sunderland can't get rid because of signing on fee's and wage demands for any potential buyer. Neither has been paid in their absence, and Sunderland’s lawyers are looking into the matters. The Chairman Donald told Talksport that when cancelling their contracts were suggested, their representatives asked for loyalty payments and agent fees first.......Loyalty, Lol.

I don't have much sympathy for Sunderland given they pocketed about £50m in parachute payments this summer.

Disgraceful from the players though.

Djolobodji has had his contract cancelled, Sunderland deemed he was in breach of contract due to him 'comprehensively' failing his fitness test. Still lost their £8m outlay though.
