Superstar Consortium looking to buy cut-price English club

I read this bit and thought it was us:

The group failed with a bid to buy a club last year.

Then I read the rest:

Jansen added: “Recently we were very close to a deal. I am not going to say now which club that was, but at the very last moment we were beaten by a foreign investor.

I wonder is Henrik would have passed onto the others all the information about us. He was obviously really keen on being our manager. Can’t see Ron now selling up with the new deal with the council.

By the time the odd 6-week chase of Henrik Larsson was happening, their bid for Wycombe was dead in the water and the American bloke’s takeover was already at an advanced stage. Does make me wonder if there was tentative contact between them and SUFC.

I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if they were hovering in the background waiting for building work to start on the new stadium, which is the point where Ron might be more likely to sell up. I certainly think there’s a link between the Dutch elements of that consortium/Henrik Larsson. and Frank Van Wezel. Larsson was always sat next to Van Wezel at the matches he came to see, and FVW is also mates with Dirk Kuyt. So I reckon he would be involved somehow.

Fingers crossed, I completely forgot about the attempt at taking over Wycombe.
