Syndicated article from The Set Pieces about newer Football League stadia

Nothing new here for the stadium buffs but I think some of the parallels are eerily similar to Southend as it stands (e.g Swansea and Brighton) and it makes for hopeful reading if we can turn things around https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...f-the-best-stadium-moves-in-the-new-build-era

Yeah agreed. I know some on here will say that Brighton and Swansea have always been bigger than us, but I'd never have said that when they were struggling at the bottom of the Third Division with us between 1998 and 2002. I had us all pegged as similar-sized clubs back then and I see no reason why a new stadium can't be almost as revitalising for us as it was for all three of those clubs.
