I'll nominate Roy Hollis. The club's all time leading goal scorer (who has a better goals per game ratio than the great Billy Best) is worthy of at least a nomination.

I understand that he was not a terrace legend like Best, Crown or Collymore, but he scored more goals than any of them, and surely that is the ultimate proof of the pudding (and the pudding is a football!) when it comes to strikers. In the famous FA Cup defeat against Bert Trautmann's Manchester City, Hollis forced the legendary German goalkeeper into what he described as 'the greatest save of my career'.

He may have been described as 'Gormless Hollis' by some, but Roy deserves some love.

He has to have been an ex-Shrimper for 2 years. Hopefully that won't be the case for at least a couple of decades.
