"He is the BBC's latest star - the cab driver who a leading presenter believed was a world expert on the internet music business.
The man stepped unwittingly into the national spotlight when he was interviewed by mistake on the corporation's News 24 channel.

With the seconds ticking down to a studio discussion about a court case involving Apple Computer and The Beatles' record label, a floor manager had run to reception and grabbed the man, thinking he was Guy Kewney, editor of Newswireless.net, a specialist internet publication.

Actually, he was a minicab driver who had been waiting to drive Mr Kewney home. "

Good bit of blagging....

Great! Absolutely great!

Very similar to the time that the BBC was talking about an upcoming Scotland match that evening. So they interviewed Tommy Boyd. Unfortunately, rather than the former Celtic and Chelsea left-back Tommy Boyd, they contacted the former Magpie presenter Tommy Boyd.

They spoke to him for about 5-6 minutes when they realised the mistake. England were playing in the afternoon, and they asked the imposter Boyd whether he would also be keeping an eye on the England match that afternoon. 'Magpie Boyd' replied "Yes, definitely, I have got a few mates round and the beers in and hope we stuff the Poles".

Mind you, you would have thought the English accent for the first 5 mins. of the interview would have been a giveaway.
