Anyone else see this? Really good program and has had me listening to Motown on my iPod almost non stop since I watched it.

Just the most perfect pop songs, absolutely breathtaking in their simplicity and brilliance.

If you enjoyed this mate, you should buy Mojo magazine this month. There's a great free CD on the front full of Motown rarities, a 40-odd page piece inside all about the labels history and the magazine contributors Top 100 tracks ever from the label.

Though its blatantly wrong as The Temptations' 'Get ready' doesn't make the grade...

anyone who liked Freeman's show should try and track down the 'Soul Deep' documentary series that was shown on BBC4 a couple of years back (and will probably be repeated soon). 6 one-hour long shows on key figures (James Brown, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, 1 i can't remember, and Mary J Blige for some reason)- brilliant interviews and archive footage.

Caught the last 15 minutes of it & was gutted to have missed the rest! Is it on I-player?

saw marvin gaye in basildon 67 68 ish had a hit out with heard it through the grapevine, the days of short hair and mohair suits .

Paid 30 quid for mine blue and green one from Leslie Andrews in the High Street, had my inside leg measured by Dick Wright , DJ Steve Wright's dad.

only place to go. bet you got excited when the tape went up your inside leg. did you see desmond dekker at the cliffs.
