Bizarre. TR leaves the EDL because they've become too extreme. Make of this what you will.

He's now hooked up with some former islamic extremists, the quilliam foundation, to promote cultural harmony. One of founding members of the quilliam foundation, maajid nawaz, attended westcliff high school.

A very curious case indeed.

Quilliam I think you will find a British man who converted to Islam in the 19th century and then went on to oppose the British empire. Very strange move.

A couple of weeks ago he was threatening a landlord causing him to cancel and anti-racism gig organised by a school girl. Last week he was sending tweets to a anti-racism campaigner of the guys front door (even though he'd got the wrong house).

Apparently, he's got a major court case coming up later this month.Call me cynical but I happen to think that yesterday's announcement and the imminent court case are somehow connected.

I'm suprised Paxman didn't make the connection in his Newsnight interview with Robinson last night.

"Robinson and Carroll are due to stand trial on 16 October for allegedly attempting to defy a ban on marching to the scene of soldier Lee Rigby's killing in June."

Probably because Paxman can't afford to be seen attempting, in any way, to sway the outcome of a court case. They get a bit funny about that.

Yes.Right you are.

"Sub judice is now irrelevant to journalists because of the introduction of the Contempt of Court Act 1981.

Under Section 2 of the Act, a substantial risk of serious prejudice can only be created by a media report when proceedings are active. Proceedings become active when there's an arrest, oral charge, issue of a warrant, or a summons."
