Has anyone seen this yet?

This has to be one of the most unnecessary and poorly conceived remakes ever.

How can you remake this without:

Mr. Miyagi.
Sensai John Kreese.
Cobrai Kai.
Joe 'Bean' Esposito.

Also - Mr Miyagi would slap Jackie Chan rigid and throw him around like a rag doll.

Actually sadly for Miyagi fans .... no Jackie would win having been trained at the Peking Opera House from about the age of 8 i think (after joining with Sammo Hung). It does look brilliant but it is all about Wu shu / Kung fu not Karate ;)

Although Bean's The Best was superb, my favourite track was from KK2 - Glory of Love by Peter Cetera.

John Kreese was also in Last House on the Left, one of my favourite horror films.

Stupid to try and recreate anything like the original...they are timeless.

Some remakes are quite good. Ben Hur for example. Or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Or Scarface/The Departed/Cape Fear/The Thing.

But the Karate Kid - a no no. Although I am a fan of JC.

Sorry chaps, have to disagree here. The trailers look pretty cool, Will Smith's got a brain that he uses to find a good flick to produce/star/whatever in, and I very much doubt he'd give his kid a role like this without thinking it through. Very much looking forward to this (probably won't see it at the cinema due to being skint though).

Will Smith has been a whole load of crap! I Robot for example.
