The other Peter Taylor...

Much prefer the film. The book pretty much character assassinates Cloughie.

The book is a good read actually, great if you like repetition. It does tow a very hard line with Clough, but it's certainly a more balanced than some views on Clough. The film, however, is brilliant. Michael Sheen produces a great performance as Clough that is very true to life and it's a pretty neutral view on him as a person.

Both are very interesting works of fiction. I have only just watched the movie. I have to say i thought it was pretty awful in places, that said Sheen was fantastic. The problem with it for me was it not deciding whether it wanted to realistic and honest or just a decent feature film.
