Did you know there was another Southend United?
Well it's a youth and junior football club formed in 1957 and based in Waterford Southern Ireland in the province of Munster. It has a growing membeship of over 200 players and coaches. Why they named it Southend United, I don't know. Still googling that one. Hopefully there's a link between one of the founders or something. If there is some obscure link as to why it's named the same as our club, wouldn't it be great if their current youth squad was invited over to watch one of our games.

Better still, we could charge them an annual licence fee for using the club's name, more income for FF.

with a little tweeking of the rules we could get them to play in the EFL trophy for us.

I believe there is a Southend at the end of the Kintyre peninsula in Jocko land - I do not know if they have a football team though.

Looking at the season, one of the results was a 9-0 defeat to Queenstown Rovers!

There is also a Southend United FC in London, Ontario, Canada.

A cousin of mine emigrated to there from Leigh in the 60's/70's and started a club in that name.
