Question The PC SZ

As a membership do we think SZ is getting to PC?

this ain't a thread to slate the SZ lads as they do a sterling job and this poll is as much for our views as it is to help them see what we feel!

Scott, we get numerous complaints from posters with kids about how all parts of the forum can be read by children, and how there's lots of inappropriate content on them. I'm sure that, once you've got your own kids reading stuff on-line, you may well feel the same.

As a response, we've created the 18+ threads in The Pub - and indeed The Pub in general - which allows people to be as rude as they like (within reason - we don't allow porn).

I think that's a pretty fair balance, don't you?

Certainly not PC some of the jokes that get told! I prefer to think of it as self moderating, and I for one, am grateful that people are now using the spoilers. If parents allow young children on here, then it's up to them to veto the areas which they access, I would hope most of the mid teens are "eyes wide open" enough to view or not as they consider appropriate.

to be fair, the owners can do what they want with there forum..i mean, i agree with free speech etc, but at the end of the day, they pay the bills, so its there rules, or we can choose not to come here if we dont agree... which is pretty much like the real world i guess.

I'm not only bothered about the children, I am worried about getting carpetted by my employer.

I have no problems being moaned at for looking at sports sites but I would hate to think my employer thinks I spend my time browsing puerile <female celebrity> ..... would you? threads.

Personally i think at times the board/mods/owners can be to PC.

However that's easy for me to say as its:

1. Not my site, so i wont be sued

2. Im not a moderator, so have no responsibility and love a bit of anarchy

3. SZ has grown to a level which does need to be policed as its read by the club, the media and children, again im none of the mentioned so don't mind listening to a non PC view or even racist ramblings, not because i agree but because it amazes me how some people formulate there views.

4. Maybe due to the extreme nature of some posters the mods are forced to adopt a whiter than white (Now this maybe deleted as a non PC statement) approach.

Finally one thing i would say is that the owners/mods do a fantastic job and allow all of us a platform to spout **** for free. Keep it up chaps.
